Sunday Dessert
It's always nice to have dessert after a good Sunday dinner. For dinner, I made Filet of Beef au Poivre with baked potato and sauteed mushrooms. The filet mignon I bought was only $3.50 for two filets -- the grocery store had mislabeled the meat. What a bargain!
For dessert, I made Blueberry Crumble Cake which we are going to have with some vanilla bean ice cream.

To Gobble Up
From wikipedia: Pappardelle (sg.: pappardella) are large fettuccine. The name derives from the verb “pappare,” to gobble up
Tonight, I made Pappadelle with mushrooms and tomato cream sauce for dinner. I got the recipe from Epicurious.com. It turned out delicious.
One of the things I wanted to do this year, is to try one new recipe per week. Yes, I know that is quite ambitious, but I thought it would be a fun challenge as well. As you can see from my pictures, you can see the ingredients before preparation and then the final product.

My George Costanza New Year's Resolutions
On New Year's day, the topic of New Year's resolutions came up with my family, and I declared that I was making the "George Costanza" New Year's resolutions. Yes, that's right! In an episode of "Seinfeld", George comes to the realization that he should try to do the opposite of everything, so he does, his luck changes and everything begins to go his way including getting a girlfriend, a job with the Yankees and moving out of his parents' house.
So, for my resolutions, I'm going to do the opposite:
1. I'm not going to exercise this year.
2. I'm going to gain weight.
3. I'm going to spend as much money as I want and not save a penny!
4. I'm going to rack up my credit card debt and max out on all my credit cards.
5. I'm going to eat as much as want, when I want.
So far I've broken all of these resolutions, and here it is the 4th day of January.
